Art challenges the observer to bring personal meaning to the viewing eperience. This collection of contemporary surrealistic oil and mixed media pieces solicits the viewer’s own attitudes about life and art by invoking questions.

The questions we ask reflect who we are and how we perceive the world. With the rate of change increasing, should we be asking different questions than we have in the past? For example, what does it mean to be human now that we are capable of manipulating the human genome? How do we reach our true, inner selves in these tumultuous modern times? What trade-offs do we incur in order to feel safe since September 11?

These paintings ask that we question the questions that “frame” our everyday reality and our very souls. By changing the questions we ask, we change ourselves. What questions are YOU asking these days?
